Indow Windows: MODI
Overview
MODI is a web application system that manages inventory and orders for Indow Window staff and dealers. The existing structure was compartmentalized and clunky. New modules were added without streamlined connectivity. Items were hard-coded and difficult to change.

The Challenge
Indow Windows needed to replace its older system with a much more integrated solution for product management.
Goals
- Increase efficiency and productivity for both dealers and admins
- Support growth and scalability of the company
- Simplify the complex workflow
- Improve the user experience
The Process
Sitemap
The old MODI application had features that were no longer needed. Other features were not easy to get were confusing. Working together with the Project Manager and Indow Windows, we determined which pages were no longer needed. To mainstream MODI’s flow, I created a sitemap of the content.
Navigation and Structure
We needed to create a new navigation that was simple and clear. From conversations with Indow Window staff, we were aware of the issues with the current navigation and content structure. Starting with the structure, I created lo-fi wireframes for the new system showing the new navigation order.
Style Guide
Indow Windows provided a branding style guide for MODI. Using the already defined styles, I created a MODI style guide of the key components for the development team to use as a reference.
Dashboard
With a system this complex, the dealers needed a quick way to see the status of the orders/estimates.
Sketch and wireframe
Fulfillment Needs
The MODI fulfillment flow was complicated but essential. First we identified the screens. I created a sitemap along with some basic wireframes to establish the fulfillment process.
Fulfillment Streamlined
After several client meetings, we had enough details to start sketching and creating high fidelity wireframes. I worked closely with the project manager to get the wireframe details.

Results
The new MODI system was successfully launched in 2015. The new system has been integrated to every aspect of Indow’s multi-million dollar operation. Every member of the Indow team now relies on the MODI system to accomplish their daily goals. Indow Windows has expanded its business and services. Some of the products are now available on Amazon.
